Austral and I drove 4.5 hours to Fort Worth to visit Mabelle last Friday. We left Houston around 11 am and arrived at Mabelle’s around 4pm. It was a fantastic weekend filled with alot of eating, shopping, catching up and some sight-seeing and dancing ;)

We spent Saturday evening in Dallas. We first went to Elm St where President John F Kennedy was assassinated while in a motorcade. After that we headed to North Park Mall for some serious shopping.

We skipped dinner because we wanted to do some shopping. We were in MNG when the store has to close but because we were all buying stuff, they had it opened just for us. We bought alot so it was worth their time ;)

At the restroom in the mall. Austral changed into a new dress she bought at MNG and we were beautifying ourselves before we headed to the bar. Heels were waiting for us in the car.

Mabelle took us to the Ghost Bar at the W Hotel in Dallas and we just danced the night away. It’s a very stylish place with beautiful people and a gorgeous view of Dallas skyline. We had such a great time there, one of the best night outs in Texas so far.

Since we skipped dinner, we had Indo mee goreng, fried egg and soup (pork ribs, daikon and peanut) for supper when we got home with our sore feet.

YUM!

Being girls, we chatted until 4.45am before going to sleep. The next day we didn’t want to leave. Austral and I went to F.W with 2 bags but we left with 10! Good thing we drove. It was a great weekend and I am looking forward to the next girls’ weekend, hopefully soon.

*More photos will be posted on Facebook soon

It took me awhile to write about my last holiday but better late than never!

The reason we made this trip to England en-route to Turkey was because Adam has to be in Oxford for work. Going back to England is always nice. Since we will be there for 2 weekends, we decided to spend the 1st weekend with family in Surrey and the 2nd weekend with friends Brighton.

The weather was beautiful when we landed in London. We spent the weekend with my in laws in Surrey. It was nice to see them all again. The last we saw them was at our wedding in March.

The weather turned for the worst the day after we arrived.

The weekend in Brighton was equally cold and wet. We spent the weekend eating (we had some good Fish and Chips), shopping and drinking (at several pubs) with friends and we stayed the very beautiful NeoHotel.

Between visiting the family and work, we managed to find a day to visit Blenheim Palace in Woodstock.

When Adam was at work in Oxford, I visited my school mate from Ipoh who now lives in Milton Keynes. As you might have guessed, we talked and ate non-stop! We talked so much I actually lost my voice! It was not good but we had such a great time.

We went to the British Museum.

Stephanie and her family are so hospitable and generous. Thanks Steph! Can’t wait to see you and your family again soon.

I spent a few days in Oxford on my own. I didn’t do much other than some shopping because I wanted to use that few days to rest before we fly to Turkey. Oxford is a very beautiful city but I am sure I have blogged about it the last time I was there so I will not write about it again.

Look out for my next post on our trip to Turkey.

Do you have date nights with your bf or husband? Last night while watching TV, I told Adam we should have a date night. Once a week we should have dinner together. Good idea Adam said BUT we do have dinner every night. RIGHT…

What about once a week, we go to a fancy restaurant for dinner? We can if that’s what you want, Adam said BUT we do go somewhere nice for dinner pretty often just that we go with friends. He suggested that if I want dinner at a nice place for the 2 of us, it has to be every fortnight.

Hmm… Do we really need a date night? We do spend alot of time with each other. So what is it that I want? I don’t know… something fun but I don’t need to be the cook maybe?

GOT IT! Adam shall cook us a meal once every 2 weeks! Adam agreed to that, he said he’ll be behind the grill when it’s his turn to play chef. He doesn’t know that he’ll be doing the dishes too! With the extra work at hand, he might just change his mind one day and decide that it’s better that we eat out! :D
