Typically there are at least 2 airports in a big city, right? Right.
One is international and one is either domestic or low-cost carrier right? Right.
So, how often have you mistakenly went to the wrong airport? It almost happened to me… twice in a month!
Incident #1 – Langkawi
Adam and I went to Langkawi to recce the place. We looked at 4 possible wedding location and 3 possible location for the beach barbeque. We flew Air Asia and on the e-ticket it read KUL-LCCT. So to me KUL means KL International Airport and I happily planned our trip and all.
The night before we left, Adam and I had dinner with my family. At La Bodega the conversation of our trip to Langkawi came up and my sister mentioned that we will be departing from LCCT. Adam and I didn’t know what the heck LCCT is and if the e-ticket wrote KUL-LCCT, that to me means KLIA but domestic departure area. I WAS WRONG!
I am so thankful my sister brought that up. Imagine us taking the train to KLIA and then can’t find the Air Asia counter and then realised we are at the wrong terminal and have to take a taxi to LCCT. Imagine the possible hassle I could have caused us! We could have easily missed our flight! Yikes!
Incident #2 – Houston
Yesterday Adam arrived back to Houston from his trip to Bahrain and Dubai. Somehow the flight was planned in such a way that he will be flying into Dallas and then take a small carrier back to Houston.
An hour before Adam left Dallas to Houston, he called me. Before we hung up I told him I’ll see him at the international airport soon. That’s when he told me he’s not arriving at the international airport, he’ll be at Hobby instead. (Hobby is like our LCCT)
When I saw Adam’s flight itinerary, his arrival is said to be at HOU. I stupidly assume HOU means Houston! Imagine what would have happened if Adam didn’t call? We will be waiting at different airports! Yikes!
Gosh. I am so blur sometimes. I think from now on I have to read the airport codes properly, I won’t be lucky everytime.

We have created a small and simple card to announce the date of our wedding and informally inviting our family and friends to join in the celebration.
Since everyone is made to travel, whether near or far, we thought it would be appropriate to give everyone advanced notice so that our guests can start making the necessary plans. This is especially important for those who are flying in from the UK, Russia, the US and Australia. As for people in Malaysia, they can start buying cheap tickets on Air Asia.
This is the little card we came up with (on ivory coloured card)

I am back in Houston. When asked how I feel having to leave KL again, my reply was ‘It’s time to go home’
I love going back to KL and totally enjoyed the company of my sisters, meeting friends and catching up but I have been out of my routine for 5 weeks and it’s about time to get back into it.
This trip back has been fun. It was all about wedding planning. Adam was in KL for a meeting before heading off to Perth and we squeezed a trip to Langkawi over that weekend to look at wedding locations.
I arrived in Houston at 6am this morning. In total it took me 24 hours to get from KLIA to Houston. I flew with Cathay Pacific this time and my travel route was KL -> HK -> LA -> Houston. I left KL with a hangover. I was out til late the night before and drank alot. I am sure there was whisky, alot of brandy, 1 blowjob, 1 shot of something red and champagne in my system. I recovered after a nap on the way to Hong Kong.
Adam is in Dubai right now and will only return on Wednesday so I took a taxi home this morning. It feels good coming back, I never thought I will miss my apartment (I miss KL when I started receiving texts from my sister). Coming back to a clean apartment is great. Eventhough Adam left a pile of dishes in the kitchen, it didn’t really bother me.
I don’t like unpacking the minute I arrive, so I checked the fridge and made a list of things I need to get from the store (beer being a must). After checking my emails, read the blogs that I didn’t get to read when I was back in KL and speaking to Adam, I went out to the store. Came home, stocked up the fridge and pantry, unpacked and did the laundry.
I have been on my feet doing alot around the apartment but time seems to pass so slowly! At 2.30pm I crashed on the sofa watching recorded shows on cable and told myself I can’t sleep. I have to wait until 9.30pm. Can’t sleep if I want to get over my jetlag.
At 3.30pm I can’t take it anymore and decided to steal an hour to nap and ended up sleeping for 4 hours! Damn it, I hope it does not spoil my sleep tonight but then again, I’ve got sleeping pills. I am still nodding off on the sofa so I have to get my arse off it (which explains this blog really).
There isn’t anything interested on cable tonight. Argh! I might just make myself dinner and unpack the rest of my stuff. Prolly I should iron the clothes too if that would stop me from sleeping before bedtime.

This trip back to Malaysia was to get things rolling for the wedding and the 2 items that top the list are to get a wedding planner and pick a resort for the wedding.
I have started my search for a wedding planner in March and plan to only engage their service once I have met them. The day after I arrived in KL, I met up with a lovely lady and it was then that I knew I want to hire her.
There were 2 other wedding planners whom I should meet before making the decision but obviously that did not materialised. I did however speak to a friend who is in this industry and my choice of wedding planner came highly recommended especially since I am having a destination wedding.
We have a wedding planner now! She’s Eileen Lui from Nupts & Such.
